| | | google the planets? This morning I read in my newspaper that google has launched new software that will let "amateur stargazers bring an astronaut's view of galaxies & planets to their computers". At the click of a mouse users can search through 100 million stars & 200 million galaxies, as seen from planet earth! Wow!!
I can't wait to try it! |

| | | Re: google the planets? It's called Google Sky. You upgrade Google Earth and you get another icon on the GE toolbar to invoke Sky.
I've been around the universe this morning, it's great ! I wish I knew more about astronomy!

Keith. | Cheers, keith. I haven't done it yet, I suppose I'm waiting to see what other users think of the software? Like you, I wish I knew more about astronomy! I only have a very basic knowledge, tut, tut. But I am always keen to learn more. |

| | | Re: google the planets? Downloaded it last nite, pretty good you can switch between earth and sky. had a look around the cosmos, quite impressive. Its the freebie version, you have to pay for the full upgrade. It'll do for me. Cheers

| | | Re: google the planets? nasa's worldwind offers similar functionality, though the interface is not as user-friendly, and the HW requirements are higher. but it's a much more powerful tool than google earth. you can also look at venus, the moon, mars and jupiter too. |
