The only planet in possible view at that time, facing south would be Venus. In fact, it's definitely Venus!

Go to this link and enter the day and time and you can see all that would be visible from the UK. |

Saturn would not be as bright as this and yes as Sammy says it is Venus. |

At the moment, Saturn is up around the constellation of Taurus. Nice piccy of Venus though.

Sorry to contradict you, Mark, but it is Mars that is up around Taurus. Saturn is in Cancer at present.
And if you're awake at 4am, Jupiter is in Libra. We had a lovely view of it from Dunkery Beacon (Exmoor) on Sunday morning.
