Sounds interesting.

It would give me a very good reason for actually making the effort to get to grips with some of the groups that I've only "dabbled" with!
I think that actually having a goal to aim for (ie. 1000 species) might possibly help to focus me.

I'm not sure how much time I'll actually find for it, but I'll give it a go and see how near to the 1000 I get. My square will be TL3703 - because that is the area that I am most likely to head for if I have a couple of spare hours for wildlife watching and photography (there's about 1200m between the square and my flat though!).
