Congratulations on this initiative, Kymba.

You mentioned activities which need minimal resourcing. One thing I did successfully in schools when I was lucky enough to be a peripatetic environmental science teacher was to help the children to make their own sun dials. In the event of there not being a suitable post or tree to use as a gnomon, in one school I managed to make a passable dial by using a child as the gnomon and chalking (later painting - with permission!) marks on the playground. This was with year 3/4 children but could be adapted for any of the primary age ranges.

I also did the usual tree & hedge planting, pond digging, habitat creation etc as well as finding and identifying invertebrates, wild flowers, etc. I'm happy to share ideas if you want to PM me anytime.
