Up until about 15 years ago I was a very keen sea fisherman.
I used to go out reguarly on Charter boats from Whitby, Bridlington, Filey etc... as well as spending countless hours Beachcasting on the beaches of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk & Suffolk.
Its fantastic fun and I have many fantastic memories and stories, here's just a very small taste but I have far too many to bore you all to death with here.
I have fished on beaches when it has been so cold that the sea spray has frozen to everything it touches, I've been knocked over by very large waves whilst trying to land fish on the beach, I have seen a man hook a passer by in the head with a set of Cod hooks (ouch

)
I once saw a very big burley steelworker from Sheffield get so sea-sick on a charter trip that he threw up and lost his false teeth over the side of the boat then lay crying in the boat bottom for the remaining 4 hours of the trip!
The only downside to it all was the very noticeable decline in fish numbers over the years, it became near on impossible to catch any quality fish from many of the beaches and the off-shore fishing was also going downhill rapidly.
I eventually gave it up for this reason along with the fact that I wanted to spend more time with my young family.
Then I got interested in Wildlife photography and look what happened!!
