Excellent. And when you have finished the washing you can churn butter in it.
We used to have a "gas washer" when I was a child, as our first house didn't have electricity when my parents moved into it. You used a gas ring at the bottom to heat the water up then heaved back and forth on a manual paddle to swish the washing about. Then put it though a hand operated mangle. It seemed like good fun to me, but I suspect my mum wasn't as thrilled! She certainly got an electric one as soon as she could. That had a mangle too, which was electrically operated and would almost certainly be condemned by the health and safety mob now. It was supposed to stop if you got your fingers trapped
