Add Your Own Photographs to the Gallery

The gallery is a great place to add your own photos of the wildlife and natural environment from around the UK. It's open to all members and you can submit your photographs by clicking on this link. Unlike a mass-image site, the gallery aims to showcase good quality images that really show off the British countryside. Please use the follow guidelines to ensure that your images meet the minimum standards.

Are My Pictures Good Enough?

The gallery has lots of stunning photos, but it's also a great place to see lots of 'ordinary' images as well. We don't expect all members to be professional photographers, but we do want to keep the standard of images high. If your images meet the following guidelines, then there' a good chance that they will be included in the gallery.

If you need to upload an image to the forum and you don't think it is good enough for the main gallery, please upload to the 'forum' or 'unidentified' galleries.

Don't Know What it is?

Please upload any unidentified images to the 'Unidentified Images' gallery

Quick Guidelines

A good gallery needs good photographs, but it also takes a lot of hard work to keep everything organised, with images properly named and in their correct categories. Thankfully, we've got some superb volunteers who work as Gallery Editors that keep it looking so good. However, to help them on their way, it would be great if you could follow these quick guidelines to make their lives a bit easier.

  • When adding a title, please use capitals in the correct places and format the title as:

Common Name - Scientific name (gender, if known)

Please try to avoid adding any_extra_characters, or(adding more brackets), question marks etc???.

  • Please put spaces between the words in your title to avoid titlesthatlooklikethisandarehardtoread.

  • Please add some relevant words in the keywords box on the image upload page. The easiest way to do this is to select and copy (CTRL+C) the title and paste (CTRL+V) in the box, then remove any extra characters like commas, dashes and brackets.

  • Please only use the 'Photography Comments' box for info about camera equipment and the techniques that you used. All other info about the weather, where you took the photograph, what you did that day etc. should go in the main description area.

Thanks

Stu and The Gallery Editors
