Having braved the cold to go to the local shop, I spent sometime indoors watching the birds in the garden and trying to snap them through the window. Some turned out better than others, especially as I had not removed the 1.4 converter and was slightly over-gunned. I too saw a coal tit, which ws an exciting first in our garden. Unfortunately, I could not to the camera quickly enough. However, one I did take is this blackbird. I know we should anthropomorphise, but it looks to me exactly as if he is complaining about his cold feet and treading very gingerly as a result.
