Something to remember, not always obvious is that you will need to take greater care to avoid camera shake when using the converter and also ensure that you have a quality tripod. It is worth noting that many DSLR lenses that offer equivilent focal length to what you will achieve with the TCON 17 have tripod bushes built on to the lense barrel and it is this factor that is often responsible for a significant part of the aparent improved performance that these lenses give over cheaper brands. Also bear in mind that camera shake can look like poor focusing so do not be too ready to blame the converter if you do not at first get the quality that you expect. (a hard lesson that I learnt when I used a Fuji7000 with a converter and later replaced the Fuji 7000 with a 9500).
