I have a Konica Minolata z20 and my first zoom camera which I still use as its less bukly is a fuji finepix 6800 zoom.

Depth of Field (DOF) is basically the amount of image in focus, blurred background and foreground is referred to as a shallow DOF. This is achieved by altering the aperture of the camera. Example f4 would only give focus to the subject, f11 would give a much wider area of foreground and background focus, ideal for landscapes.
