Very interested on your comments re E300 picture quality. I shoot tiff and find very little to choose between the two models.
I find the white balance on the E1 much more reliable than the E300 unless you use the E300built in flash, which is perfect for macro.
Any comment appreciated ( if you read my previous, you will see that I use manual lenses for macro work.See
