I agree with Beryl on this one.(And not only just because we are friends).I have only just caught up on some of the threads and felt the need to put my two penneth in
I myself have hundreds in the gallery and some of them have been there an awful long time.I feel I have improved over time and I think a time limit would be a fairer way of doing it.Then only our improved photos would show.Some of us are not as lucky as some to have very good camera and different lenses to get close or opportunities to go to meets and depend on out own accessible localities for our photos.
Some have to rely on our garden birds and in the right season there are lots of plant-life and chances to get good shots.I only get a few species in my back garden and as I am recently out of hospital my garden is my only chance of photos.As it is with a lot of people.I am going mad not being able to get out and will be disappointed if I get what I think is a good photo and maybe not as close as I would like but still identifiable only for it to be rejected because there are a lot of that particular species in the gallery.I am not going to give up but will now have to think twice about posting wondering if it will be good enough or that I have too many of them already there.
A time limit would be ideal so all of us only show our best ones over time
