Yes, but there's a precautionary principal there, so both are right.
Your ma would be able to show you the particular berry and you would be able to recognise it &c.. Hopefully, she'd also show you the ones
not to try ....
Your teacher would be telling you. 'Don't eat any berry .... ' because they couldn't show you all the alternatives. The safest option ....
I am exactly the same, my instructions are (and always have been), 'Eat nothing
unless you know it's safe!'.
