Mute Swan photo

With the dull weather recently if seems a contant battle to achieve good colour and contrast in my images, so I thought I'd apply some black and white processing to this portrait of the Mute Swan and also add a little defuse glow.

This is the side of the swan that I get to see while I'm sat there quietly waiting for a photo opportunity, rather than the slightly agressive and in your face side the familys experience on there quick visit to the pond with some bread. It is great though to see children being introduced to our wildlife and its such an exciting moment for them, perhaps as they grow older they'll want to take more time to sit back and soak it all in...I did
