Hmm, I'm sure that's true in many cases but pheasants, for instance, shooting out of a hedgerow don't look that unhealthy to me - just stupid.
I must say that my wife has only ever got one kill which was a pheasant - I would have been quite happy to collect and eat it but wasn't allowed
On the other hand, even healthy birds/animals can be caught by motorists travelling too fast. I could see a good TV programme where speeding killers were caught and made to eat the road-kill ....
