I have an Olympus E500 which I have found to be very good. However the choice of lenses is very limited. I used it mainly with a Sigma 55-100mm lens and obtained reasonable images.(see some of my images in the Gallery) However I have since moved on to a Canon 400D with a Sigma 100-300mm f4 lens and 1.4 EX TC.
Other than the very limited availability of lenses the E500 is a very useful camera. However with the Olympus kit lenses it is a very good buy. Just depends on what you are going to be using it for. Long Zooms at reasonable prices are not readily available. Sigma have yet to make their Bigma (50-500mm lens) available for the 4/3 mount in the UK
