Totally agree, but sadly all those emissions caused by transportation, are having an effect on weather patterns in places like Africa, making their crops fail. It's a horrible vicious circle. Wish I could see a way of breaking it, without environmental impact. The fact that the beans were fresh meant they must have been transported by air. At least with dried foods, there is choice, such as ship transportation.
But yes, these people, do need a better deal for what they produce.
