Sadly, it's not so easy getting to the more remote reserves etc, without the use of a car and with public transport in this country, not given the priority it should, then it has to be our own modes of transport. 
Also it depends on what our members want to see. I'd be hard pushed to see a golden eagle, for instance, in Kent

I normally car share with boddie , but on the rare occasion that I am driving myself I would be happy to pick up anyone who wants a lift and is roughly on my way.
Of course balanced against the need to be green is the need to be safe - it might be a tad unwise for some members , perhaps especially the ladies (not wishing to be sexist or anything * he says walking into a minefield *
) to get into a car with someone they havent met outside of cyberspace.
That aside a good point well made paul - When ever I organise a meet from now on I will try to give info on public transport or links to such info.
