Yeah I know what you mean about the "big feet" thing and when allowed to grow almost unhindered, they do produce an enourmous root system that is twice the size of the tree canopy (at least!). They are a very majestic-looking-tree and the ones at Crickley Hill look amazing in the Autumn. The leaves turn to a beautiful copper/burnt gold colour that looks like fire set/frozen in time.
