| Dragonfly meetings
I'm hoping to organise a couple of Dragonfly meetings, the first will be a Woodwalton fen, near Peterborough, hopefully at the very begining of June to coincide with the peak emergence of both Scarce Chaser(Libellula fulva) and Hairy Dragonfly(Brachytron pratense), there are loads of other species present but these two are the site specialitys. Date open to debate on this one, but preferably between May 20th & June 10th.
For the second meeting I'd like to return to Wicken fen in early July, this site is a true Dragonfly mecca, last year we had 16 species on our meet there, its also absolutely brilliant for other insects as well. I'm going to provisionally set Sunday 8th July as the date for this one as I think it may be quite popular. |
