Yes, it does seem a bit ironic that people spend all the year trying to conserve electricity then waste it in this way. However, I don't think that people have been as bad this year as others and the city council has been really quite restrained. One thing that has been done is to hang up reflecting strips along some streets - so much spare light from cars and houses that you don't need to use any new energy. Could work with chains of mirrors? |
