A warm welcome to WAB.
I was up in the Fort William area a few days ago and the snow was conspicuous by its absence even on most of the high mountains. We had sunny, cold and frosty days rather than the grey and drizzly stuff down here in Essex so it was quite wintery. I hope it snows soon for you as those true winter landscapes up there are awesome.
Capercaillie? .... I have only ever seen one and that a top of a head for about 2 seconds!!
