I saw my first male Capercaillie at the annual count 2006 held at The Glen Tanar estate. I think we found only 17 males this year but it was an unforgettable day, and Chris Packham was there with us. And yes girls, he still looked lovely even after eight hours hiking through knee high heather
I live in a wee village called Kintore, it lies approx 20 miles to the west of Aberdeen. Anyone been to or heard of our local landmark, a hill called Bennachie? It's not a Munro but if any of you have been in this area you will have likely seen it.
I'm hoping for it to snow soon so that we can get snowboarding, I saw a gorgeous white hare last year at Glenshee and I hope to see some Ptarmigan this year too and maybe some reindeer if we make it over to Aviemore.  |
