Thank you all for the warm welcome. If I manage to take some photos which aren't embarrassingly bad I'll post them up.
Keep looking around at all the wonderful photography on this site, and it looks like this hobby could become very expensive if I let it!!
Canon 100-400 for bird & willife - £1000 ish
Canon 180 macro for close up - £1000 ish
Macro flash - £350 ish
Yes I know there are less expensive solutions, but either way better get some overtime in!!
