I'm left-handed but regularly use the mouse in either hand. I use a computer every day of the week and most evenings too so I would hate to develop RSI. If I feel any twinges in my arms or wrists, I swap hands, but I keep the mouse settings the same - too confusing otherwise.
About the speakers - I hate my computer talking or playing music so my speakers are always switched off!
