The only way I found that worked for me was to think of the species first by its scientific name. ie if you see a
Common Toad think
Bufo bufo, not
Common Toad, see a
Painted Lady think
Cynthia cardui not
Painted Lady .... I am sure that others have better methods but this works for me
Pararge aegeria (you may call me "Aeggy" for short)
