Can I ask those who have this lens what would be my maximum zoom length before I lose f5.6?
I can't remember the exact point, but it's not something you should worry about. The focusing is fast and accurate at all speeds. I don't use the lens much now days but I'll never get rid of it. There are times where the flexibility of the zoom outweighs the slightly lower resolution you get when comparing it to a prime lens.
