My husband works for the railway and said trains will be running normally this Friday (they only shut 2 days a year Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
The best website to look on for your train times is Transpennine Express
First TransPennine Express: Buy Cheap Train Tickets | Train Fares | Timetables to Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle
Put your details of travel in and then you can see the best times for you and then click on the required train time and it will tell you which train operator it will be.
