Maybe the fact that it should be done on a full moon has something to do with it.  Sanity wise!

When the moon is low and near the horizon (near trees, buildings etc), it has the optical illusion of it being larger. The theory is if you look at it through your legs and upside down, it should appear normal.... apparently!
