Hi RangerSarah, I read your description of the "Spider v wasp" episode with great interest as I saw and photgraphed exactly the same sequence not too long ago.
Your thread came up in a search on the term "Spider v wasp" from a referral, and I was amazed at how similar the sequence sounded.
