Re: Conservation question?

Hello there
I did an essay about that some years ago. It is quite interesting. First because conservation was an economic issue. It began with the discovery of the new world and all the new species they discovered.

For example I read that one of the most old park in England (3 or 400 years ago) it was protected, not because of flora or fauna could be there, but because they wanted to have enough place to the the king could chase deer. \but thanks to this measure, several species could survive to the extintion.

I think the first national parks to protect nature began in USA, but any human could be there inside living or doing any activity.

Later the notion of sustainability arrive at the 80's or 90's where it was considered that a place for conservation could be as well be productive economically speaking.

I will be looking in my old papers to see if I could find some biblio I could send you.
