If they are looking for the British person who has had the biggest influence on our culture in the last 25 years I'd vote for Tim Berners-Lee, who originally designed the World Wide Web on which we all depend so much and which has revolutionised our communications. He isn't an "icon", since few of the general public have ever heard of him - but in my view he should be. |
