My Grandson was given a Cray Fish for a pet by a friend of mine, should my Grandson not be keeping the Cray Fish without a licence?

The Freshwater or White Clawed Crayfish
Austropotamobius pallipes is a Protected Species. It is the only crayfish native to Britain and is in severe decline due to a crayfish plague that is carried by other species that have been released into Britains waterways. You need a licence to survey for and handle them.
