Re: Snaps near St Ives

Jeff,

Not this time. This was the lake to the east of Meadow Road in St Ives. If you follow the old railway line from the Fen Drayton pits across the railway bridge, turn right through Marshall's works and then left into Meadow Road (Meadow Road comes out at the roundabout close to Waitrose in St Ives). Go 100 yards up Meadow Road and then cross over to follow the paths on a scrubby piece of ground. These lead to St Ives parallel to Meadow Road, and the lakes are on the left. There is quite a large area to explore and I have only started. I go the pits every week, either bussing or biking to Swavesey and then pleasing myself. Sometimes I follow the river, sometimes not. It is a great place. If you see a grey bearded old geezer festooned with camera, bins, flask, sarnies and a funny hat, this might well be me.
