Both are generally very similar in appearance.
Greater Burdock grows to 1.5-3M (5-10ft) and has flowers to 40mm (1.5") in diameter and spherical.
Lesser Burdock grows to 1.5M and has flowers to 20mm (0.8") in diameter but more elongated.

As does Greater Burdock, and the plants growing habitat only helps to blend the differences between them.
