Don't worry, it's not going to be the Doomsday Book, it won't be compulsary, and we won't need everyone to tells us how many cows and chickens they've got - it's just purely going to be a graphical representation of members on the site. All anonymous and just for the purpose of giving new visitors some idea of huge variety of knowledge, interests and opinions of people that use the forums.
There are many new visitors that feel initimidated by forums because they feel they won't fit in with the crowd. They often think that they don't have sufficient knowledge about the subjects, everyone will disagree with their point of view, that all the people on the site are youngters or old fogies, or academics, or geeks etc.
The survey will just help to explode the myths. There are many forums where all of the above are true, but Wild About Britain is different and we'd just like to show it with some basic facts and figures.
