I have just found this thread whilst looking for info about orchids coming into flower (I'm hoping to see Green Winged next, it is on my target list for this year) and I agree that people need to be careful about giving out specific locations, or even general locations, for some orchids. I was lucky enough to find Dark Red Helleborines last year at a site from which plants had previously been dug up so I wouldn't post that location publicly and would be careful about who I shared it with. On the other hand I would post locations for early purples and bee orchids because they are so prolific and well known here anyway and the info easy to find on the internet. Due to the awful weather I have yet to see even an early purple this year, just the leaves a couple of weeks ago. |
