Hi new here. I joined having witnessed some squirrel behaviour yesterday which has left me flummoxed so hope to have some insight from some on here.

I have been watching and feeding a pair of squirrels since I have lived here. Just recently they have gone into mating mode.

Yesterday one of them ran along the fence carrying the other one in it's mouth. This was something of a labour of love as the carrying squirrel nearly dropped off the fence and at times was struggling to keep its grip one the one being carried.

My initial thought was that the squirrel had been injured in some way and may even have been dead.

Today only one squirrel has been around.

Any suggestions please.
