According to legend this bright moon was given the title of Hunter's Moon because it enabled poachers to stalk their prey more easily in years gone by - no doubt the gamekeepers could also spot the poachers too.

Sorry Tink, Hunter's Moon has yet to come. The Moon last night was the Harvest Moon, Hunter's Moon rises with Orion, it will be Full on Sunday November 5th at 12.59.
Harvest Moon is the one nearest the Autumnal Equinox, Hunter's Moon comes after, usually around Samhain.
