Re: blackfoot polypore and mystery leaf litter mushroom

From the entry in the British Checklist for Tubaria furfuracea we get an endorsement for all the above commentary:

"Tubaria furfuracea (Pers.) Gillet, Hyménomycètes (Alençon): 538 (1874)

Agaricus furfuraceus Pers., Syn. meth. fung. (Göttingen) 2: 454 (1801)
Naucoria furfuracea (Pers.) P. Kumm., Führ. Pilzk. (Zwickau): 77 (1871)
Tubaria furfuracea (Pers.) Gillet, Hyménomycètes (Alençon): 538 (1874) var. furfuracea
Tubaria hiemalis Romagn. ex Bon, Doc. Mycol. 8(no. 8): 5 (1973)

Habitat: On wood (fallen twigs, sticks, woodchips etc.) in deciduous woodland, parks, and gardens.

Notes: Very common and widespread. T. hiemalis is sometimes considered a separate species, characterised by fruiting during the winter and by the more broadly capitate cheilocystidia and has been widely reported from Yorkshire southwards."
