Not really a story, but my cousin has got a pidgeon her hubbie brought home from work, had been thrown out of the nest, was only a squeaker, no feathers, or hardly any. She called him Louis. She reared him and she's still got him 15 1/2 years later. He lives indoors some of the time, but is free to go outdoors when he wants, she keeps a window open for him. He does go out to fly around, but always comes back in. He was a town pidgeon, not a woody. I wonder what their normal life expectancy in the wild is? does anyone know?..
