I know what you mean about the torch Suzy. Also I disturbed 2 wild ducks tonight, before dark, they flew off, probably they would eat the spawn when it comes. Which is it best to have ? , Tadpoles/baby frogs or mallard ducklings. I suspect the ducks came in 'cos THEY know spawn is imminent.Do ducks eat skinny frogs? I think I saw a photo on one thread of a waterbird of some sort, I think it was a duck, with a frog in it's mouth. I've just had another thought, p'raps the frogs have been spawning, and the ducks have been eating it., also there's the heron that comes, I wonder if he eats spawn?..Then again, if I get ducklings (but no tadpoles) the crows and/or buzzard and/or the kestrel will have Them. You can't beat the food-chain..
