I remember watching a very interesting episode of Grand Designs where a chap called Ben Law (with a little help from his friends) built a very cool house from sweet chestnut right in the middle of the woods. It was only due to the nature of his work - he needs to be on site to keep an eye on things all the time - that it was allowed (the only reason the authorities will accept as I understand it). Hang on I'll go find a link...
Here's one: Linky
See, that would do for me ( a girl can dream...)
Keep meaning to get hold of one of his books, they look interesting.
Under the duvet Gill? Oh yes, but in my little house in the woods |
Didn't he only get to do this on the understanding that it's demolished when he leaves or dies?
