If you click on the image again to bring up the full size image you can see that, even resized down to 1600 pixels wide, Mars is showing a disc.

Nice one, may i ask how do you do a composite? i take it that its two separate captures blended into one, confusing bit being you say you had to zoom out to get both in the frame, i did try a couple shots but all i could get of Mars was a dot, i did try in black n white as app it is better,
