Well after a year of working as an assistant ecologist I left my job to re-locate back down south, and I am currently stuck in the same situation as before. I now have 1.5 years of consultancy experience and sent my CV to about 70 companies with no luck. I have had a few interviews but I understand that it is still early in the year so things should pick up in March.
Still it goes to show that even once you have experience the ecology field is still so hard to compete in. Good luck to everyone job hunting, its hard out there!
