When I was little I always used to confuse narrow boats with long boats - gave me images of Vikings storming up the Grand Union Canal ....
I'm currently reading for my book at bedtime (which reminds me ......) "Narrow Dog to Carcassonne." about a couple taking their narrow boat over the Channel - I'm getting a bit queasy and they haven't even got out of the Thames yet. Anyone read it? Very funny in parts, scarey in others .... |
