We see these things all the time but it puzzles me as to why people behave like this to animals. Early last year whilst walking around Carsington Water I noticed a group of people huddled round and when I got close they were watching a
Hedgehog that had come out of hibernation early and was walking in circles. Two very young children watched by their parents kept going up to it and giving it a light kick with their feet. I went to the rangers office and he came back with me and we put the Hedghog in a box and it was taken to safety but the parents were not discouraging the youngsters from harrasing the
Hedgehog. Why? its not my place to tell them off.
