Grey Seal Birth
This is not very gory but if you are particularly squeamish it might be best to look away now!

Neil (Ukwildlifeo) and I made a trip up to Donna Nook in Lincolnshire today and were priveleged to witness the birth of a grey seal pup. Unfortunately this all happened during my "panoramic period" (see Shutter fault on my D300) but at least I got some photos...









Incredible to think that in about three weeks that pup will be three times the size, will have moulted into a new coat and will be able to fend for itself.
