I remember a day (over 30 years ago) at a lagoon in Tolon, Southern Greece where we had a real heron-fest
We sw grey, purple, night, squacco, cattle egret, little egret , glossy ibis and ....(still I guess the rarest thing I ever saw) a SACRED IBIS which in those days was exceptionally rare further west than the eastern black sea and is now no longer even listed as a vagrant in most European bird books

That's a good memory
