A viewer sent in a video of a sparrowhawk tackling a magpie. The sparrowhawk eventually drowned the magpie in a pond. Now that's clever.
A friend of mine has a sparrowhawk which regularly visits her garden and catches the starlings. Originally when the caught starling stared alarm calling the sparrowhawk would be mobbed by other nearby birds, so now it has learned to drown the unfortunate starling in her pond so as to kill it quietly and not attract unwanted attention!
